I correctly followed the steps but after rebooting the PC, nothing changed. Have you tested it? Hope for a replay asap. Microsoft really needs to add an easy way to disable these gestures. Half the time I scroll with my left finger, the screen to switch apps appears.

Concerning that particular gesture, they should’ve had a lefty on their QA team! In reply to ManuRegna’s post on October 12, You can easily enable or disable the ‘Gesture’ settings. Here, you can enable or disable a number of Gesture settings.

Right-click the Start menu, then select Power Options. Click Choose what the power buttons do on the left side pane. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, then under the. The problem is that the search box we don’t have Cortana yet in Australia pops up when you’re 2 finger scrolling and accidently touch the pad with another finger. I have tried changing the touchpad settings but Windows overrides them on reboot!

Users expect to be able to switch things off You haven’t helped whatsoever I do have a choice – stop using Windows 10, as its a complete joke I was able to find a dialog box that allowed me to disable the touch pad “features” that are annoying to me, and enable a few that help prevent unwanted actions. Maybe this will help:. On the Mouse Properties dialog box, select the Advanced tab.

Click on the Advanced feature settings I have neuropathy, so most of the multi-finger gestures are useless, though I use Pinch Zoom. On the Touch Pad tab, the “Browser support function” results in unexpected, and uncontrollable simulated Back and Forward operations on Web pages. So turning that off was especially helpful to me. I enabled all of the options to disable touchpad events while typing.

I think software design should follow the path of least surprise. All the unwanted random events and surprising actions generated by the touch pad indicate rather poor judgment in my opinion.
