No improvement here. I also didn’t like the way Word nag, nag, nagged me whenever I chose to save in. I’ll migrate everything eventually, I’m thinking, leave me alone!
Overall Review: Hobby time! Worst of all about Word Home and Student from my point of view is: don’t even think about typing anything into this word processor that may one day make you a dollar. Or even help a non-profit organization. You couldn’t type up for-sale ad, for example, or a short story or poem that you attempt to sell — making something with the intent to sell it is a business use.
Of course if it doesn’t sell, Microsoft is unlikely to sue you. But suppose that novel you wrote becomes a best-seller picked up by Hollywood and you make millions? Students beware! That novel you started in you Creative Writing class can never be submitted to publishers. Pros: This is the worst Microsoft Word that I have ever had and owned.
I had some important medical records stored and saved on my computer that I used Microsoft Office Word Home and Student to create and save for me for when I went back to see my doctor so that I could show the medical records results to him for and about my health.
Well it turns out that when I went to open the document to print it out for my doctor, Microsoft Word came up with an error and told me that it could not retrieve the file-document and that it had been lost or damaged and could not be found or viewed.
It came up with my important medical record document on a blank Word page with none of my medical info that I had been saving for 10 months using Microsoft Word It saved the name of my document but not any of the important info that was in and on the document. Microsoft Word mysteriously and somehow lost all of that important medical record history of mine on its own.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Microsoft Office Word can try to recover it for you” It in fact does not recover it for you!!! Instead it takes you to a blank new Word document. Right there is a problem-Bug with it and that is probably how and why it lost and completely erased my important document that I needed for showing to my doctor.
It released around the same time as Microsoft Windows Vista. Microsoft Office Word Home and Student still has way too many Bugs wrong with it to be completely useful and safe to use just like Microsoft Windows Vista.
Do not consider buying Microsoft Office Word Home and Student unless you want some of your own saved Word documents to mysteriously disappear and be completely erased as well.
A good suggestion from me would be to go with an older Microsoft Word such as Microsoft Word if it still even exists these days. To obtain a replacement from MS requires that you have the physical proof of purchase, ie the original receipt. I no longer have the original receipt from Best Buy.
I do have the product keys for Vista and Microsoft, if I can use those to download Office? The 25 character Office Product Key is still good, as long as you wrote it down correctly, and entered it correctly. LibreOffice is a free alternative to MS Office.
It has equivalent programs and many but not all of the same features. For people who can’t afford MS Office, it is a good alternative. It is also often useful for fixing problems with document corruption in Office. It will sometimes be able to open a file that the Office application can’t. Open and FIX the code error that is preventing it from being opened in Office!
It is apparently incorrect and, perhaps, I wrote down the wrong numbers at that time! I cannot, therefore, re-install the program and am requesting some solution from Microsoft which will allow me to to do so, without having to purchase again! Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit.
We on this forum, and me specifically, are not “Microsoft”. Microsoft does not pay much attention here.
