I’m considering a reinstall. I have some questions about how best to do it. First some background. I’m running Windows 8. It took about 13 hours. The following day, I installed the tools.
That took almost 18 hours. It worked. Then a few days later, when I tried to reopen the project, it didn’t recognize it. The solution said it had zero projects. When I tried to create a new project from scratch, by clicking on New Project from the opening screen, I got this message: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”. After using Google, I decided the problem probably had something to do with the registry.
I restored from the system restore point after the first installation, but before the installation of the tools. That didn’t work. So, I think I have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall. Here are my questions.
